Missing a college day on my birthday

One upon a time, 19 years ago, I was born on the 26th of October. Which means yesterday was my birthday, therefore I decided to miss college. I was very worried about what I will be missing, other than that I did not really escape studying, because, I had to complete and submit an essay on that day. I was lucky to have my mom her in Liverpool on my birthday, which makes me survive being home sick. I spend that day (after submitting the essay) with my mother, it made it as special as any other birthday. We went out for breakfast in a really fancy restaurant, I ordered my always favourite breakfast meal which is "Smoked Salmon add Benedict". After that we went back to my apartment, they had made a surprise ready for me, with all the coloured balloons and the gifts wrapped in boxes, This made me cry tears of joy. Another very special thing is that I received a gift from a very special friend all the way from my home country. In my opinion college should allow students to get a day of on their birthday, because It is a very special day.
